ICYMI: Ohio Organizing Collaborative Board Chair Rev Michael Harrison Sr. on MS NOW: “Keep Fighting.”

June 21, 2026

Today, Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC) Board Chair Rev Michael Harrison Sr. joined MS NOW to discuss the federal government’s latest campaign to interfere with Ohio’s electoral process.

Watch Rev Harrison’s interview: PART ONE and PART TWO.

Earlier this month, swarms of federal agents raided offices and visited the homes of staff, volunteers, and partners connected to OOC’s work. Rev Harrison and MS NOW host Jacob Soboroff discussed how this brazen attack on our democracy is nothing more than a scare tactic designed to stop Ohioans from volunteering, donating, and participating in our democracy. Rev Harrison made clear that OOC’s canvassing, outreach, and engagement work will not be deterred, and the organization will continue to stand with every organizer and advocacy organization working to protect the freedom to vote. Key excerpts from the interview are below.

Rev Michael Harrison Sr., Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC) Board Chair:

“Disenfranchisement didn't just start with this administration. It's been going on for quite some time. And it's a battle that we've been fighting since we coalesced ourselves together as the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, because we understood clearly that there were some people who just didn't want to give us an opportunity to exercise our constitutional right to vote.”

“We've done nothing wrong, and in the midst of doing nothing wrong, there's nothing to be found. There are no charges to be filed [...] Election registration is not election fraud.”

“Let me say this: we understand that we're not the first [to be targeted]. We understand that we won't be the last, but we need it to be clearly understood. There's a song that we sing in our church: ‘We will fight, we will win.’”
